Actor Rajesh Dhruva, who recently began learning to play the chenda melam, shared that it took him 15 days to master this traditional percussion instrument from Kerala. Rajesh, known for his debut in the Kannada film "Shri Balaji Photo Studio," is now collaborating with director Sukesh Shetty for their upcoming project, "Peter," which revolves around the chenda melam. "In order to deliver an authentic performance, I made the decision to familiarize myself with the fundamentals of chenda playing. After two weeks of training, I developed the necessary skills to play the instrument proficiently. Additionally, I underwent weight loss training to ensure that I embodied the appearance of a chenda artist," Rajesh explained. "We aimed to seamlessly infuse folk music into the narrative of the film, offering a fresh and captivating experience for our audience," he shared. "In today's competitive film industry, we must engage and convince viewers why they should choose to watch our film." Despite his progress in the film industry, Rajesh expressed his intention to continue working in television. "I don't restrict myself. Ultimately, I require a steady income, which television provides. Once I have firmly established myself in the film industry, I may consider focusing on one medium."
